Alba Spectrum Group serves local clients in Chicago Southwestern suburbs: Aurora,
Naperville, Plainfield, Oswego, Morris, Batavia, St. Charles, Elgin, Plano,
Sandwich, DeKalb. We are announcing new services - advanced Microsoft Great Plains
customization, support, recovery, version upgrade, forms and reports design as well
as software development and integration to Microsoft Dynamics GP. Additional
services are Microsoft SQL Server minor and major data repair (related to Microsoft
Dynamics GP), Crystal Reports and MS SQL Server Reporting Services. Below we would
like to give you Microsoft Great Plains ERP highlights:
. Database Platform. Since 2005, Microsoft Great Plains is supported on Microsoft
SQL Server and MSDN/Select only. Old platforms. Such as Pervasive SQL 2000, Ctree
Faircom support is expired. The last GP version, supporting Ctree and Btrieve
/Pervasive was GP 7.5
. Technical Architecture. Historically Great Plains Dynamics was designed with
Great Plains Dexterity. Dex is still the core of Microsoft Dynamics GP 'fat' client
as well as it has strong influence on database structure: DEX_ROW_ID, zdp_ atomic
stored procedures, etc. However, Microsoft Dynamics team is moving GP to be more
open for Microsoft Visual Studio developer: eConnect, Microsoft Dynamics GP SDK are
good examples
. Industry Supported. Virtually, GP could be considered as a platform for
implementation and if needed customization to fit any industry and business model.
You should first look at the set of standard modules, supported directly by
Microsoft Business Solutions, then you should analyze third parties - software,
developed and supported by ISV and then think about custom logic to fit your really
unique business processes.
. Version Upgrade. This is the most typical case when GP customer is looking who is
out there to do the job. If you have complex and probably unhappy customization
implementation in the past and if you need to move on and upgrade to latest version,
go ahead and give us a call
